We are very much into the term now and we have all been a little busy with production preparation to write a blog lately. Very naughty!
We had a lovely 5 weeks with Miss Clarke our last student teacher and now we have another fantastic student teacher called Miss Grant. She is doing a 15 month course and this is her second professional practise. Her last one was with a Year 7 & 8 class so this is a big change for her. We think she is settling in well and are enjoying having her help with our reading groups. Make sure you say hello to her when you see her in the class.
The school production is only two weeks away now and practises are happening franticly around the school. All the children where sized for there costumes today in Room 2. Thank you to the wonderful mums and dads who have been building, sewing, purchasing, twisting pipe cleaners, paining gumboots... the list goes on. We couldn't put this production together without all of you.
Tickets went on sale today so make sure you purchase some. We are all really looking forward to showing you how well we can sing and dance on Thursday 22nd September.

What a busy lot we've been
Firstly we want to say welcome to our new member Grace. Grace started at the end of June and she is settling in really well. Grace has big sister Sophie in Room 4. Welcome Grace, we hope you love being part of Room 2.
We have been working on machines as part of our topic. Last week Mrs Meikle got us all to bring in boxes and bits and pieces and we spent Wednesday afternoon creating our robots. We had designed them on paper first so we had the very tricky job of creating our designs and turning them into 3D models. It was lots of fun and on Friday we got to show them to the school at assembly.
That same Friday we had the School Disco. We love the school disco. All of us dressed up in our shirts or dresses and danced the evening away. This year it was at the Scout Hall in Yaldhurst because the Yaldhurst Hall is a little earthquake broken. It was such a fun night. The PTA did a fantastic job and had brought lots of amazing glow things and flashing aliens, rings, necklaces ... We got to spend some money and buy these flashing things. The DJ put on lots of different songs and even though the boys spent lots of times running around together there was definitely lots of dancing done. Mrs Shead came along for a boogie and Toby came too, which was soooo special. Thanks to the PTA for putting this on.
Mrs Shead has worked really hard on all our Mid Year Assessments. We hope that all the parent's enjoyed seeing what hard work we have all been doing. Thanks Mrs Shead for doing all of them for us. We really apreciate it.
We are all really looking forward to having a holiday break. We have all worked so hard this Term and really deserve it. Room 2 want to say a special welcome to Jacinta Clark who is coming to help Mrs Shead in Term 3. She will spend five whole weeks with us. We hope you have fun Miss Clark. Also a big thank you to Hannah's Mum, Sharon for doing the school blog.
Have a great holiday everyone.

Welcome Hunter and our Gymnastics
We have a new student in our room. His name is Hunter. Hunter started on Monday 30th June. Hunter has been seen around the Yaldhurst School Playground for a while as he has a big brother in Room 3. We've often seen Hunter at school assemblies sitting with his big friends from Room 6 and now he is in our class. It is really exciting to have you Hunter. We hope you enjoy being in Room 2.
Something else that was very exciting for us in Room 2 was getting to go in a big bus with Room 3 to do Gymnastics at Olympia. We travelled there 2 days a week over a 3 week period and on the last day all our parents got to come and watch us. We had really improved. Lots of us learnt to do forward rolls, balancing, how to bounce high on a trampaline, swinging on the bars and doing forward rolls on the bars. It was really fun. Mrs Shead took some pictures of us doing some of the different things. A few of us are going along after school now to learn more. We really hope all our Mums and Dad's enjoyed watching us. We really loved having you all come.

Toby's Last Day
On Friday 27th May our class had a special lunch to say goodbye to our good friend and classmate Toby. Toby and his family moved to Southbridge and because it is so far away he and his sister Twyla from Room 5 are going to go to Southbridge Primary School.
It was a fun lunch, a few of the mummies came in and brought some delicious food. And we had a visit from Miss Tasker too. She came in specially to say goodbye to Toby. We had cake, cup cakes, biscuits, fruit, cheerio's and lots of other things. There was even a giant cookie that said Farewell. Some of us ate a little bit and some of us, especially Cameron, ate a lot! It was really nice to have the special lunch but we are sad that Toby is leaving us. Toby started last year as one of only 3 children in Mrs Sheads class. Cameron is now the only one of the three left at Yaldhurst School.
After lunch we sat around in a circle and shared something special we all liked about Toby. Lots of people said he was a great friend, that he was kind, that he looked out for other class members and that he was funny.
Goodbye Toby!! We will really miss you and your family.
PS: Here are some photo's of the party
